Imagine drinking your first morning coffee from a very special cup? How do you feel about adding a touch of art to your coffee-drinking ritual? That’s exactly what happened in our collaboration with Boris Bare.
Boris is one of our most famous street art artists whose story began in his school days. As he himself says, colors have been in his hands since he can remember, and art is an integral part of his day. From colorful school desks and walls to large wall murals that adorn not only Zagreb’s streets, but also streets around the world. He started slowly, from the first scribbles on the wall, to graffiti and large wall murals. Today, he has formed into an unavoidable name in the Croatian art scene and stands side by side with Lunar, Chez and Lonce.
He draws his inspiration from life, people and the many trips and kilometers he has traveled in the most remote corners of the world. Vivid colors, large dimensions and shapes have become an integral part of many buildings, schools and streets. His art has become part of the city’s sights, while he breathes life into the walls and erases their gray borders.
Thus, he often causes a smile in passers-by and a warm feeling in the heart. His art has the power to wake up passers-by from a busy day and rushing around the city, and you can find it on your first walk of the day: on the facade of the Petar Preradović elementary school, in Zagreb’s Dolac, or on buildings in Sisak. If you try to go a little further, you can even find it in a remote hostel in Mexico…
Long live Street Art!
It should certainly be mentioned that Boris is one of the initiators and organizers of the Art Park art festival, which has traditionally become an unavoidable event of Zagreb summers. Art Park is a unique open street gallery, accompanied by an open-air cinema and numerous concerts.
In addition, Boris Bare is part of the art collective Pimp my Pump, which has been giving Zagreb’s water pumps a new look for several years, better known as the Iron Franceki. Wanting to preserve one of the symbols of the capital, but also to bring a little color to the sometimes gray everyday life, these colorful and painted installations were created, which are sure to bring smiles to passers-by.
That’s why collaborating with Boris seemed like a completely logical step. We’re both playful, colorful, and fun. Special and unique. It’s like we were looking for each other!
This collaboration makes our mugs even more special. This time, Boris’s art has moved from the streets to a slightly smaller surface of porcelain. From the wall to the mug! The result is an ideal blend of color and playfulness, art and intimacy. He created the design for the limited edition Rendes mug, which will be sold in a limited number of 100 copies for now.
In this way, Boris’s art becomes part of your everyday ritual. Drinking coffee with a touch of art. Why shouldn’t every cup of coffee have a special dimension and a completely unusual note? The smell of coffee and the clinking of porcelain make a winning combination for every day!
See you at Art Park in Zagreb’s Ribnjak!
